Crawford Hoying Taps Nationwide Realty Veteran Ahead of Large-scale Construction Projects

Crawford Hoying Development Partners has hired a Nationwide Realty Investors Ltd. veteran to help lead the Dublin-based developer as it embarks on projects in Central Ohio and other markets.

Matt Starr spent just shy of 10 years at Nationwide Realty, most recently as director of real estate equities. That experience included the land assemblage and initial phases of the 100-plus acres in Grandview Heights and Columbus where residential and commercial development has entered its second phase.

“I enjoyed my experience working with (Nationwide Realty), specifically being involved with Grandview Yard from its inception,” Starr said in a news release sent to me. “The lessons learned there will serve me well in my new role.”

Starr, who began his new job as director of development Monday, also has experience working the at Arena District developer’s Madison Club private golf and residential development in La Quinta, Calif., and Southshore Commons, a 137-acre mixed-use project in Tampa, Fla.

Crawford Hoying is ramping up its development team as it moved toward getting approval for two significant projects within Dublin’s Bridge Street Corridor redevelopment district.

“His addition helps us to insure that we continue to execute successfully on the projects we have in the pipeline,” Crawford Hoying Principal Brent Crawford wrote in an email to me after my inquiry for more information.

That pipeline, readers may recall, includes the  $300-million mixed-use Bridge Park development at Riverside Drive and Route 161 and a  more modest condo development at 94-100 N. High St. on the other side of the Scioto River.

It also has a significant residential-anchored project  planned for downtown Dayton.
